Planned Parenthood has launched a chatbot to help teens get answers to their questions about sexual health and puberty. The idea is to give young people a place to ask questions that have often been considered embarrassing.
The bot, called Roo, has been trained to answer a range of questions, from how to handle a crush to concerns about sexually transmitted diseases.
The technology’s primary target audience is teenagers ages 13 to 17; however, the platform is free to anyone.
Users can ask a question directly or choose from pre-written questions. According to Planned Parenthood, the more users interact with the platform, the broader the scope of questions it can answer.
